Art Appreciation

We enjoy the visual arts - painting and sculpture, of course, but also architecture and the crafts. The only qualification needed for membership of our Group is a willingness to explore unfamiliar areas of the vast World of Art. (Of course, if you were able to prevent the rest of us getting lost somewhere in it, that would be a bonus . . .)

We aim to go to look at artworks every month, choosing a gallery or other place of interest to visit together. Inevitably, London is a magnet with its treasure-trove of collections and special exhibitions, but we look for other destinations too.

We also meet in Bracknell , at Shepherds Lane Methodist Church, usually at on the second Friday of the month. This meeting often takes the form of an introduction to the subject of the visit planned for later in the month, and we benefit from the use of the U3A's digital projector to look at reproductions from books or the internet.

If you are interested in joining us, please contact the Group coordinator. Future gallery visits are usually listed in the Diary in the BF U3A Newsletter; we rarely need to book ahead, so our arrangements are quite informal.  London trips are usually by train - let us know that you are coming so we can look out for you!
