Recorder Group

A small, sociable Group for members wishing to participate in making music; it meets in the afternoon on the first and third Wednesday of each month. One of the Group is skilled at arranging music and produces parts to suit the different standards of each player and the pitch of the instrument(s) that they play. The pitch depends on the size of the recorder, the majority initially playing the descant recorder.

A variety of different types of music have been attempted, from Renaissance Polyphony to 20th Century Music Hall songs, with Carols and Christmas music being played in season.

At present there is no waiting list although, if more members wish to join, this may have to be reconsidered. If you played the recorder, or indeed any other instrument at school, you already have the basics for joining our Group.
